TradeEnabler x ChainDoX:
Synchronizing Trade and Payment
TradeEnabler and ChainDoX both build on the
XDC Network. Together, we are exploring how verifiable trade documents, governed wallets and programmable money can synchronize the transfer of trade rights with payment.
The connection began at the Digital Economy Council of Australia (DECA)’s Digital Trade Forum in Brisbane, where TradeEnabler Chairman and Co-founder
Herve Lacorne met
Simon Hopgood. Both were speaking at the event, with Simon presenting ChainDoX.
"Synchronizing trade documents and payment has been a goal of international trade for well over three decades. With ChainDoX, we are working toward making that a practical reality through atomic settlement: transferring the rights represented by an authenticated trade document against payment (D/P) in the same transaction."

Consider an eligible electronic bill of lading representing rights to merchandise. Through a governed contract, those rights could transfer to an importer’s authenticated wallet against
AUDD - Australian Digital Dollar (also represented at the Brisbane event) or a tokenized deposit. Once the agreed conditions are satisfied, both transfers complete together—or neither does.
For air cargo, authenticated air waybills and agreed release instructions could connect payment with authorization to release merchandise.
ChainDoX’s verifiable trade documents complement TradeEnabler’s governance before settlement and
World KYC’s authentication of businesses, authorized individuals and the identities behind their wallets.
This also opens opportunities for financing goods in transit. Authenticated documents linked to verified participants give banks stronger evidence of the underlying transaction, its status and the rights being financed.
The ambition is to deliver some of the documentary assurance associated with letters of credit through simpler, programmable workflows, while retaining the credit assessment and guarantees required for each transaction.
TradeEnabler’s work with documented mining and forestry contracts provides a practical foundation for these applications.
Our MOU sets out the intention to explore this global opportunity together.
Thank you to DECA for bringing us together in Brisbane. We look forward to advancing these discussions across the XDC trade ecosystem and at Sibos Miami.
